Sri Lanka has two monsoon seasons on opposite coasts. December to March is ideal for the south and west coast (Galle, Colombo, Mirissa) and the Cultural Triangle inland. July to September is the best time for the east coast beaches at Trincomalee and Arugam Bay. The hill country around Ella and Nuwara Eliya is pleasant year-round.
Yes, Sri Lanka is very safe and welcoming to Indian visitors. The two countries share cultural ties and Sri Lankan locals are familiar with Indian customs. Solo travellers and families are both comfortable.
About 170 km, which takes around four hours by road. Most tours stay overnight near Dambulla or at a lodge near Sigiriya itself so the climb to the summit is in the early morning rather than midday heat.
Yes — Mirissa is one of the best places in the world to see blue whales, with the season running from November to April. Trips leave at dawn and return by noon. It can be added to any package that includes a Mirissa or Galle stay.
