Yes. Indian passport holders require a Japan Tourist Visa, applied through the Japanese Consulate in your city. The process takes 5–7 business days and requires documents including bank statements, ITR and an invitation or hotel confirmation. We assist with the documentation checklist. The visa is free of charge.
Spring (late March to mid-April) for cherry blossoms and autumn (mid-October to mid-November) for fiery maple colours are the most popular seasons. Summer (June to August) is hot and humid but includes vibrant festivals. Winter is cold but beautiful with snow in Hokkaido and Nikko, and fewer crowds.
Japan can be challenging for strict vegetarians: dashi stock (fish-based) appears in many dishes. However, shojin ryori (Buddhist vegetarian cuisine) is available at temples and specialist restaurants in Kyoto and Tokyo. Indian restaurants exist in both cities. We can pre-arrange vegetarian meals at participating hotels on request.
The Shinkansen connects Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and other major cities at speeds up to 320 km/h. A JR Pass — available outside Japan only — covers most bullet train routes and significantly reduces travel cost. We include a JR Pass (7-day or 14-day) in our itineraries for Tokyo–Kyoto–Osaka circuits.
