Yes. Indian passport holders can apply for an Egypt e-visa online through the official portal (visa2egypt.gov.eg). The fee is USD 25 for a single-entry 30-day visa. Processing takes 72 hours. Visa on arrival is also available at Cairo and Sharm el-Sheikh airports for approximately USD 25. We assist with the documentation process.
October to April is the ideal time — cooler temperatures make sightseeing comfortable. The Nile Valley in January is 20–25°C, perfect for open-air monuments. May to September is extremely hot (40°C+) in Luxor and Aswan, though Nile cruises and Alexandria are more bearable. Avoid Ramadan if you want all restaurants and sites operating fully.
The main tourist sites — Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, and the Red Sea resorts — are considered safe and heavily visited. A licensed Egyptologist guide significantly enhances the experience and helps navigate local vendors. Avoid remote areas near borders and always follow your guide's advice on local customs.
The Egyptian Pound (EGP). USD is widely accepted at hotels, tour operators and some restaurants. Exchange rates at authorised exchange offices in Cairo are better than at the airport. Keep small USD notes for tips (USD 1–2 per guide interaction is customary). Cards work at most hotels; carry cash for markets and street vendors.
