Indian passport holders require a visa on arrival (VoA) at Ngurah Rai Airport. The fee is approximately USD 35 per person for a 30-day stay, payable on arrival. An e-VOA is also available online before departure through the official Indonesian government portal, which saves time at the counter.
April to October is the dry season and the most popular time to visit. May to September offers the best beach weather — clear skies and low humidity. November to March brings rain, particularly in the afternoons. Even in the wet season Bali is warm and beautiful, and resorts offer better prices.
Bali is considered very safe for Indian families and couples. The Balinese are hospitable and the Hindu cultural connection makes Indian visitors feel at home. Traffic can be chaotic around Kuta and Seminyak, so always use a guide or private driver rather than renting a scooter.
The Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). USD can be exchanged at authorised money changers in Seminyak, Kuta and Ubud — rates are better than at the airport. Most restaurants and hotels accept cards. Keep small IDR notes for temple entry fees and street stalls.
